There are various itineraries to be covered on foot, by bicycle or on horseback
From the border with the Municipality of Sarteano, in the motorway toll booth area, you reach Poggio Montollo crowned with the characteristic cypresses (site of archaeological and environmental interest), continue along quiet local roads in loc. Mulinaccio up to take the provincial road 20. After about 700 meters. of asphalt, you leave the SP and re-enter the circuit of the local roads crossing the 1st class SV of Montelungo / Ficomontano, from there through the municipal road of Montelungo you arrive at the historic center (direction N / W), before go up to the historic center it is possible to foresee a branch (approx.1.5 km) towards the railway station.
From the historic center (piazza San Secondiano) go down via Porsenna, via Marconi, Carducci district, and arrive at Vigna Grande where there is an important Etruscan tomb dating back to the 2nd century BC. and return to the historic center. Or you can continue to Ficomontano, passing through Fonte all’Aia and then descending towards Chiusi Scalo.
From the historic center, go down via della Pietriccia (passing the National Etruscan Museum and the Mascagni Theater), at the end of the descent you turn right towards the SV del Colle where you can reach the Tomba del Colle (dating back to the 6th century BC with important frescoes) and from there you can reach the Path of Reclamation which is about 800 meters away.
From the historic center, take via Longobardi behind the National Etruscan Museum, arrive at Porta Lavinia, descend for 50 meters along the Peschiera local road which you leave by turning left and then go up the ridge of Poggio Renzo via the SV di Montebello to get to the area of the Etruscan Necropolis. From there you can continue either towards the lake or towards the Sentiero della Bonifica.
Ring route on the local roads of Pilella and Gaiella-Paccianese that allows you to reach the Etruscan hypogeum of Poggio Gaiella.
